Anybody here have experience with writing songs? Ive written like half a song and want to know how to improve it and make it better or if Im on the wrong track?

your whole lyric doesn't have to ryhm. Is this from a personal experience?

Lol Ill try ryhming a little less XD And no actually Ive never really went through a breakup. Ive just done alot of writing and reading.

Ok, here's what needs to happen. Words are important to songs, especially if you want to send a message out to the world, but they're only part of a song. In my experience it's much more difficult to write music to words than it is to write words to music. If you play an instrument or even if you don't I would suggest coming up with some sort of melody to musically describe the message you want to share. These are usually focused around emotions. ie happy, sad, contemplative ect. Then when you have a melody you like you can just let the words kind of flow from that.

@tanner23456 Makes sense. Only problem is I dont play any instruments except my voice and when I sing it. Its more of a Jazz/Blues beat kind of song. Thank you so much though for the input. Im going to try and figure something out melody wise :)

I play guitar and normally my sister sings for me but I am trying. Nice job and no prob
