Ella spent her whole allowance of $2.00, plus the 16¢ she had left over from last week, on bubble gum. If the pieces of gum had been a penny cheaper, she would have received three more pieces than she did. How many pieces did she actually buy? -What is the formula?

OpenStudy (rennylynn):

All i know is It is 9 cents per gum so she has 24 gums but a penny off is 8 cents per gum and that means she will have 27 then. A formula might be............ Like 2.16=cg Idk hope whatever i just did helps...................Sorry i cant do more.
