The Depression was started by Wall Street as this one did by the loan companies not checking out if a person could really afford that million dollar house and was more interested in giving the loan. You seen what happen for example with Freddie and Fanny and the banking industry. If the Gov, did not step in with bailouts in this recent one we would of had a very more severe one even though no Congressman wants to admit we are in one.

The Great one was really caused of greed again. People could buy stock for only 10 cents on the dollar. When the stock went down they had to borrow more to keep the rich life style eveyone was in. After it peaked and collapsed most lost every thing they owned and it happened around the whole world. Its like today. Banks wants their money now but dont want to loan any. They dont want to even loan out the Tarp money we taxpayers gave them thats setting in their banks. No one is pushing hard enough to loan so the US is getting no where. Solution, dont re-elect the 1/3 of Congress this year and remove your personal money from the banks and put it else where since the banks are still failing. Thanks for the Q.
