PLEASE HELP!!! Which mixture can be separated using filtration? Choose all answers that are correct. A. soluble solids in water B. solids of different sizes C. different colored liquids D. insoluble solids in water
a. sand and water ( only if not mixed ) c. sugar and water ( only if they are not mixed) d. salt and water
Is it not a and c
Not
Its just opposite of your answers
A. you would have to let is evaporate b. If its like like rice mixed with marbles you can seperate them. c. Different colored liquids (Does this mean food coloring) ??
the only mixtures that can be seperated by filtration are ones which have an insoluble solute (solid) mixed with a solvent (liquid
so d
i hope the answer is right
Yes, that is correct @leothelion . That is because if you are trying to use a filtration system, the filter has tiny tiny tiny holes in it which trap bigger particles that are mixed into the liquid solution. Having something that is dis-solvable into the liquid like sugar or salt, kind of defeats the purpose of using a filtration because the sugar/salt is mixed in with the waters molecules. You would have to use something that's not dissolvable in with water properly use a filter system.
thx!
