PLEASE HELP!!!!!! Geometry A segment has endpoints M(6,15) and N(-3,9). The image of the segment, after a dilation centered at the origin, has endpoints M'(3,7.5) and N'(-1.5,4.5). If the scale factor is equal to 4x+1, what is the value of x? -1/8 -1/4 1/2 1/3

OpenStudy (alexandervonhumboldt2):

first lets find the dilation factor: we divide x coordinate of old point by x coordinate of new point. 6/3=2. Thus the scale factor is 2. 2=4x+1 1=4x x=1/4

OpenStudy (alexandervonhumboldt2):

then we just solve the equation and get x
