Hello, fellow studiers! I need help with some math. I will award the best answer a fan and a MEDAL. I will have the question attached below in a picture. Thank you in advance :)

@jagr2713

Did you try making your scatter plot yet?

OpenStudy (i_love_my_nieces):

All you do it make a graph with the appropriate numbers, then make a dot to the correct x and y values. Correct?

OpenStudy (i_love_my_nieces):

is*

OpenStudy (i_love_my_nieces):

@OrangeMaster

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, scatter plots are just the coordinates, you don't connect them with a line. However, it does ask for a trend line in which case you would draw a rough line that would sorta connect the dots.

OpenStudy (i_love_my_nieces):

Okay now how would I do that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Here are the coordinates.

OpenStudy (i_love_my_nieces):

Can I have the link to that, please?

OpenStudy (chantysquirrel1129**):

https://www.desmos.com/calculator

OpenStudy (i_love_my_nieces):

Thank you

OpenStudy (i_love_my_nieces):

Now, that my scatter plot, correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry, I was trying to reply but OpenStudy is always so slow. Desmos is what I used, I just can't give you a direct link because I input the data myself.

OpenStudy (i_love_my_nieces):

Oh okay. @OrangeMaster

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That is the scatter plot for the data in the table.

OpenStudy (chantysquirrel1129**):

you're welcome c:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

As for the interpolation or the extrapolation, I'm not sure. I was never taught. :(

OpenStudy (i_love_my_nieces):

Can you Google the definitions for me can copy and paste them in here, please?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Interpolation is guessing data points that fall within the range of the data you have, i.e. between your existing data points. Extrapolation is guessing data points from beyond the range of your data set.

OpenStudy (i_love_my_nieces):

??

OpenStudy (i_love_my_nieces):

So that mean to basically estimate the number of patents in 2006. Also is this was the graph would look like draw out, can you tell me " Yes or no." ?

OpenStudy (i_love_my_nieces):

Nevermind. But can you draw the graph and take a screen shot and post it please to make sure mine is right.
