OpenStudy (clamin):

What is Overpopulation? Why is it a problem?

OpenStudy (kayliwarden):

Over population is when the population grows to big that it is hard/impossible to sustain with given resources. Imagine this: you're in a room with 20 people. On a table there are 10 water bottles. Everyone needs an entire bottle of water to survive, but there aren't enough bottles of water for everyone. Overpopulation in the environment leads species to either spread out in search of new land with new resources to support the population, or ceases to exist. With humans, overpopulation usually occurs in big cities. Imagine a ton of people jam packed into a little sector of town. Crime rates increase and disease and poverty become very common.

OpenStudy (clamin):

Where did you get this from?

OpenStudy (clamin):

@kayliwarden

OpenStudy (kayliwarden):

my brain

OpenStudy (kayliwarden):

Also I have taken AP Human Geography and AP Environmental Science

OpenStudy (clamin):

Oh okay thank you

OpenStudy (clamin):

Umm do you have more information about human overpopulation? :)

OpenStudy (kayliwarden):

I can try and remember more. What do you need? It helps to think of areas where the population is very concentrated(Like a ton of people in one place!)

OpenStudy (clamin):

What can be done to solve thw problem?

OpenStudy (kayliwarden):

You either have to decrease the growth rate of the population or create more living space or create more resources.
