OpenStudy (stylesprettygirl):

The diameter of a circle is 102 feet. Using the formula C ≈ 3d, what is the approximate circumference of the circle? For this one do I 102x3 to get the answer

OpenStudy (stylesprettygirl):

@Jamierox4ev3r

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

Where did you get this formula?

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

was it given?

OpenStudy (stylesprettygirl):

nope c = 3d

OpenStudy (stylesprettygirl):

How could the answer be 102?

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

interesting..

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

\(C=2\pi r\)

OpenStudy (stylesprettygirl):

the question says using the formula C ≈ 3d, So im still not 100% sure on this one

OpenStudy (md152727):

Who is reporting me>??

OpenStudy (stylesprettygirl):

?^

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

it seems as if you would just multiply 102 by 3. Since the formula is telling you that the circumference is approximately 3d

OpenStudy (stylesprettygirl):

Yea thats what I was thinking thank you!^

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

no problem! But note the \(\approx\) sign. It isn't equal to 3d exactly, but it's approximate. So never set anything as being \(=\)
