\[A = a ^{2} + 2a \sqrt{\frac{ a ^{2} }{ 4 }} + h ^{2}\]
That's the formula used to find the surface area of a square pyramid
a = base edge
h = height
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so 736.8?
OpenStudy (gabebae):
I got 736.77
so it's close
OpenStudy (anonymous):

I used google calculator..
OpenStudy (gabebae):
Sorry I have my own geometry homework to work on
and yes the formula is different
OpenStudy (anonymous):
OpenStudy (gabebae):
\[V = a ^{2}\frac{ h }{ 3 }\]
that's the volume for a square pyramid
OpenStudy (anonymous):
So 261.3

yes..
OpenStudy (gabebae):
\[V = \frac{ \sqrt{3} }{ 2 }a ^{2}h\]
That's the formula to find the volume of a hexagon pyramid

24696?
OpenStudy (gabebae):
Wait that's a rectangular pyramid
volume = lwh / 3
OpenStudy (mrnood):
you type that one of the answers to the area was 726.4
did you mean 736.4? that is th eprecise answer
note you have 4 triangles whose height = 19.3 and base = 14
base is a square 14x14
so you can get a precice answer by addin the 5 faces
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Ok that makes sense.
