OpenStudy (hhmorris98):

WILL MEDAL Mikaya loves to swim in the river near her house. After swimming in the river one afternoon, she saw two alligators by the dock. When she saw them swimming towards her, Mikaya's heart began pounding with fear. Now when she goes near the dock she shakes with fear. Identify the elements of classical conditioning below. UCS A) alligators UCR B) dock (before the conditioning) CS C) dock (after the conditioning) CR D) shake with fear NS E) heart pounding in fear

OpenStudy (anonymous):

D) because she found 2 alligators at the dock

OpenStudy (adamaero):

I don't think that's all correct. @hhmorris98 Think of what each object is to her. First the alligators. Are they seen over and over again (consistently?)--no. Therefore, the alligators are an stimulus...unconditioned. Is the dock a reflex? Can an object be a reflex? What about a stimulus? ...etc

OpenStudy (koffeemonster):

Personally, I'd pick C, dock (after the conditioning), if I had to pick one. I can't be definite if it's right or not.
