OpenStudy (leahhhmorgannn):

Okay, so I had to do this project for my Geometry class. I took this lamp with its measurements (lamp: http://prntscr.com/9637lm and measurements: http://prntscr.com/9639ni ) I made a dilated construction of it. I divided every measurement by 8. This was the finished model, with the new dilated measurements: http://prntscr.com/96392u My only problem with the project comes in the very last step, which states: "Write a proof demonstrating how your model is similar to the object you chose." I'm not quite sure how to do that and I've never been very good at proofs to begin with.

OpenStudy (leahhhmorgannn):

I'm not sure if it would be similar just because of the dilation or what. @superdavesuper

OpenStudy (superdavesuper):

what criteria u can use to prove similarity?

OpenStudy (leahhhmorgannn):

to prove similarity, don't we need to know that the figures have the same shape, but different sizes?

OpenStudy (superdavesuper):

correct but even though they may be different sizes, the ratios of the sides must be the same. So here are what u got so far: |dw:1448303899112:dw|
