Two very quick questions!! 1) If a pulley system with an actual mechanical advantage of 2 is used in lifting a 2,000 lb. car, what effort would be needed to move the car? If a pulley system with an actual mechanical advantage of 2,000,000 is used in lifting a 2,000 lb. car, what effort would be needed to move the car?

I think that, in both cases, the requested force \(F\) is given by the ratio between the resistant force \(R\) and the advantage \(a\) of the elementary machine used, namely: \(F=R/a\)
