A cylinder has a volume of 45 cubic inches. What is the Volume of a cone that the cone fits exactly inside of? Please help me.. I don't really understand.

OpenStudy (gabebae):

A cone is 1/3rd of a cylinder

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, keep going lol

OpenStudy (gabebae):

\[V = πr ^{2}h\] that's the volume for a cylinder \[V = πr ^{2}\frac{ h }{ 3 }\] and that's the volume for a cone

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, I'm getting there.. I'm still kind of lost. :/

OpenStudy (gabebae):

It's the formula

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, i know, but how do i plug it in.. do i put 45 for the radius?
