Well his main draw was he was a war hero He took on the same troops and field commanders that help defeat Napoleon and gave them a blood bath in New Orleans in the war of 1812 this shocked the British,he bore a scare given him by a british officer when he refused to shine his boots his older brother fought in the war of 1776.My favourite story about him is when he gave the British permission to remove their dead he stood on a wall smoking a cigar and when any Brit got within ear shoot he would say ''we last 18''
