OpenStudy (futureboy1):

Simplify the expression. (15 + 8)[23 – (10 + 7)]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

does "simplify" mean "compute"?

OpenStudy (futureboy1):

no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh, what does it mean?

OpenStudy (futureboy1):

to make it easier

OpenStudy (anonymous):

futureboy in this situation compute=simplify=make it easier

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i am funnin with you of course it means compute find the number start by adding \(10+7\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do you get?

OpenStudy (futureboy1):

i did the whole equation, I got 23*6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well that is certainly "simplified" isn't it they probably want you to actually multiply \(23\times 6\)

OpenStudy (futureboy1):

are u sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

pretty sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

although if i were you, i would return an answer of \(23\times 6\) and when it was marked wrong say "but it said simplify, and that is what i did"

OpenStudy (futureboy1):

i do school online so i dont have a say
