jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Let x = time in minutes, y = height of water if x = 0 minutes, then we have y = 54 inches of water now if x = 1 minute, what is the height of water now?

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

so i was thinking about 3/2 because if we divide that then it equals to 1.5 can we use 3 as the rise and 2 as the run?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

-3 is the rise since the water level is going down (the water is draining)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

you have the right idea though
