Can Someone Help Please?? A school puts on a play. The play costs $1,200 in expenses. The students charge $4.00 for tickets. There will be one performance of the play in an auditorium that seats 500 people. What is the domain of the function that shows the profit as a function of the number of tickets sold? The domain is all real numbers from negative 1,200 to positive 2,000 The domain is all integers from negative 1,200 to positive 2,000. The domain is the integers from 0 to 500. The domain is all real numbers from 0 to 500.
So what is the independent (changing) variable in this? For a function, this would be the x input. The y output value is the dependent thing, what changes /depending/ on the independent variable. You don't even need to write an equation for this question, just decide which variable is the independent one, that causes a change in the other variable: 1) number of people that attend the play 2) the total profit from the play And the domain is the range of possible x values (independent variable values). Does this make sense?
so, the independent variable is the # of people, and the dependent variable is the total profit?
so the answer is C?
or D
So I would say the answer is C, because you can't have 1.5 (real number) # of people, but you can have 1, 2, 3, etc integer numbers of people. Good work!
OH, ok thank you So much!!! :)
