Do you know what the equation for the circumference of a circle is? pi is a constant, so the question is saying your answer can be in the form of pi * some number (or Npi, where some number is N), not using the value of pi itself.

\[Cirumference~= d \pi\] d = diameter
OpenStudy (♪chibiterasu):
It says you don't have to apply pi to the simplification so you just have to add the diameter.
