Which ordered pair is the solution to the system of equations? x+y=-1 x-3y=11 A. (2, −3) B. (−2, 1) C. (5, −2) D. (−6, 5)

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Have you considered substuting the values into the equations and verifying the result? Have you considered solving the system?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

So, no? You haven't considered those things? Well, there they are. Show your work.

OpenStudy (some.random.cool.kid):

i think he means plug in each answer to solve your equation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh Thank you

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

That would be the first suggestion. It's called "substitution". There is no such thing as "plug in". x and y don't package values and put little bows on them. The x and y are actually replaced by the specific value.
