During the Cold War, the United States foreign policy of containment consisted of A. wars and covert operations. B. wars and mutual assured destruction. C. deterrence and mutual assured destruction. D. deterrence and covert operations.
@LichKing @Surana @Photon336
Proxy wars, various "I shall nuke you if you try nuking me", hippies, hawks and doves, and roughly five conflicts.
Although I'm kinda leaning toward the third one.
a lot of proxy wars, for sure & wars in general. U.S. giving supplies to one side, soviets backing another government. etc etc.
Very tense time, that was.
yeah, I want to go with mutually assured destruction too because both sides built up nukes/weapons.
I'd go with the third one. Just my point of view.
the wars were the result of the policy not the other way around. well in my opinion. I think I agree with you @Surana
