I actually need help with my Astronomy class. Is this an appropriate section to post Astronomy questions?
I suppose so. And what kind of lesson is it? A test? quiz?
A homework quiz. I've already answered all the questions, I just want to confirm that I have the right answers. I will be submitting it in about ten minutes or less, so I might not have enough time to double check them on here...
Ok.
The focus appears to be on Pluto, dwarf planets, and asteroids, although some other questions come up occasionally
kk :p
And what school is this? Grade?
University
Oh. :P
The mass of all the known asteroids combined is approximately equal to: one-third the mass of the Moon. That appeared to be the answer from what I found online, but my textbook says that all asteroids combined would be the same size of the moon, not the mass. Does that seem right? I'm pretty bad with science stuff.
What about you? What level of schooling are you in?
8th.. but I'm advanced in science :P (Good with Astronomy)
Ok, remember that size and mass are different. Nothing else in your book says anything about the mass?
8th grade? (I don't judge by age lol, I know some people learn this stuff before university) And nope, at least not relevant to the question.
(I'm 22 and in eighth grade! I'm kidding. 13. ^.^
And, nothing in a lesson or class?
Cool! I hope it's not creepy talking to a 20 year old :P And these quizzes are basically pre-class quizzes. They prepare us for the lesson in class, so if we don't understand something, we come to class with questions. The problem is, if we get the question wrong, our grade drops... which is silly :P
That is silly! And it's not weird talking to a 20 yr old. I'm used to older people. :P
Anyways... I do have reason to believe you are right :P but let me some more research :3
Okay. I'll go back in my textbook and see if maybe I read it wrong or something.
ok
Yep you are right :D
Alright, thank you! I'm going to submit the quiz now and see what I get... I've been working on it for about 3-4 hours
Lol! It takes me that long on some quizzes :P
Ugh I got a 17 out of 20 -.- I know that sounds good but I'm actually failing this class and I've never gotten a perfect score on a quiz. On the bright side, that was the right answer to that question.
Atleast you got that question right :P
And you got 3 wrong, you drop a score of 3 in your grade?
sorry I couldn't help with the other three :(
Very often the grading system makes a mistake, so hopefully at least one of the questions I got wrong is actually right. "Pluto is composed primarily of rock. Answer: false." Google: Chemical composition: Pluto probably consists of a mixture of 70 percent rock and 30 percent water ice. My textbook also said it's mainly rock. -.-
I think it made a mistake. '-'
Tell your teacher"Look, I have been studying for this quz, and I noticed that I got this question wrong, but in the book it says different. nd my friend Google says its right too. Gimme my point lady! D:<" Lol
I hope so. It drops 3 points from my overall quiz grade, but it's not out of 100. My quiz average is probably around a 50%... so I need lots of 100s XP
Ye, I get ya :P
Don't worry about not being able to help with the other three. You helped and that is what matters ^^
Thanks ^^
Lol it's a class of I think 300 students... so on Monday we'll all yell at him :P
You're welcome. And thank you for helping me ^^
Lol :P And it ffeels like i'm helping my older brother, though hes only in the 10th grade. I feel awesome when I help olde rpeople :D
Np! :)
See you later... bro!
It's great to help people. It helps you learn better too. :) See ya, and once again, thank you so much!
