Which words are italicized in each sentence? Copy the entire question and for each line, place the italicized words inside asterisks. I think the first one should be: 1. 1. Tu tienes *los boletos*. This way we know which words are italicized, and we can help you.

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

The idea here is to replace the direct object with a direct object pronoun. Let's look at the first sentence. 1. Tu tienes los boletos. 1. You have the tickets. You are trying to say "You have them.", using the direct object pronoun "them" instead of "the tickets." In English, the direct object pronoun "them" works for any plural word. In Spanish, the direct object pronoun has different forms that need to match the direct object in number and gender. Since "los boletos" is masculine plural, you need the masculine plural form "los". 1. Tu tienes los boletos. becomes 1. Tu los tienes. In this case, "los" does not mean "the" masculine plural definite article. In this case, "los" means "them" masculine plural direct object pronoun.
