OpenStudy (anonymous):

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
The flight takes off at 8AM IST and arrives in Dubai at 10AM Dubai time.
When the flight arrives in Dubai, what would be the time in india ?
OpenStudy (linknissan):
@ganeshie8 M not sure
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
the difference in times between india and dubai is \(x\)
if the time in dubai is 10 AM, then the time in india would be simply \(10+x\), yes ?

Yes, M following
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
lets find out the time taken by flight during return trip
OpenStudy (linknissan):
Ok
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
return flight takes off frm dubai at 1PM and reaches india at 11PM
When the flight starts in Dubai, what would be the time in india ?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
the answer is a because when you lleave india it is 10 you arrive in dubai at 12 that is a 2 hour difference so if you leave dubai at 1pm you should be back at 11 am at india so is will be a 2 hour difference

so we have below info so far
ongoing time : 2+x
return time : 10-x
OpenStudy (linknissan):
Yes, till here it's very much clear
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
good, we are past the tricky part
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
next we simply use the relation
distance = time * velocity
OpenStudy (anonymous):
did i help at all

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
plug them in the distance formula
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
keep in mind
ongoing distance travelled = return distance travelled
OpenStudy (linknissan):
Yes i got it! Wow that was awesome!!
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
distance between dubai and india didn't change
you may think that it might change due to earth spin, but it doesn't..
OpenStudy (linknissan):
Yes, i got it now.. your approach is just awesome :) and thanks a lot! I am not good at math, but let me know if you need help from me in anything else :) @ganeshie8
