When you solve an equation, how do you know when to add and when to subtract? You may include an example if you need to.

Nnesha (nnesha):

to cancel out something we gotta do opposite if it's added to the side then to cancel it out you should do opposite of addition which is subtraction

Nnesha (nnesha):

like in this example x+3=4 it's `x PLUS 3=4` So to cancle out the 3(to solve for x) what would you do ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

make it x-3=4 ?

OpenStudy (md152727):

I am here, sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok awesome @MD152727

Nnesha (nnesha):

no u won't make it you should subtract both sides by 3 |dw:1448611031496:dw|
