What is the magnetic-field energy in a 15.0 cm^3 volume of space where B=4.20 T?

OpenStudy (naveenbabbar):

Use (1/2) B (square)/Mu knot

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do I have to take into consideration the volume?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Im confused on what the final units should be

OpenStudy (naveenbabbar):

It will be /\[J/m ^{3}\]

OpenStudy (naveenbabbar):

These are the units for energy density. If you want to calculate the energy the multiply the result \[\frac{ 1 }{2\mu _{o} }B ^{2}\] with 15\[cm ^{3}\]. Them final units will be of energy i.e., Joule.
