Absaloute value functions F(x) = F(-7) so, F(-7)= 9-2|-7 +2| A. -1 B. -15 C. 1 D. 19 I keep getting 35...?

OpenStudy (freckles):

I kinda don't understand what you have written there are you just trying to evaluate 9-2|-7+2| just apply order of operations -7+2 is? then apply the | | to that since (-7+2) is in | | it just means what is the magnitude that number is from 0 hint it will be positive or zero that is |a|=a if a>0 |a|=-a if a<0 |a|=0 if a=0 see output is always positive or 0 |a|=-a only applys mean a<0 this means when a is negative for example if a=-5 then |-5|=-(-5)=5

OpenStudy (freckles):

once you find the magnitude (-7+2) is from 0 then you will multiply it by the scalar -2 then just add that result to 9
