I kinda don't understand what you have written there
are you just trying to evaluate 9-2|-7+2|
just apply order of operations
-7+2 is?
then apply the | | to that since (-7+2) is in | |
it just means what is the magnitude that number is from 0
hint it will be positive or zero
that is
|a|=a if a>0
|a|=-a if a<0
|a|=0 if a=0
see output is always positive or 0
|a|=-a only applys mean a<0 this means when a is negative
for example
if a=-5
then |-5|=-(-5)=5
