A half-life is an amount of time, the time it takes for half of a substance to change into whatever else, here it's radioactive decay, "it undergoes β\(^−\) decay into yttrium-90, with a decay energy of 0.546 MeV." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strontium-90 first half-life is when 100% of sample falls to 50%, the second 50% to 25%, etc..in the link above it says that strontium-90 has a half-life of 28.8 years, from the graph it looks about ~28
