The SmartScore is more of a comparative score between users. For example there can only be 1 level 100. And perhaps 100 level 99s, and 200 level 98s, (not exact) but something like that. This way, if you are active enough (more active than someone that is a higher level than you) then you will displace them. (and by active I mean - helping with questions sort of thing).

Therefore the SmartScore is a displacement system, not entirely a point system - and with so many users trying to displace each other all the time -- there is not really a reliable "progress bar" that can be made." -@jigglypuff314

You need over 1 million points to become a 99 SS user. But you'll need over 15 million points to become a 100 SS user. You'll have to overtake @satellite73 our current 100 SS user.
