OpenStudy (malcolmmcswain):

Is there something you are struggling with?

OpenStudy (mtalhahassan2):

OpenStudy (malcolmmcswain):

OpenStudy (malcolmmcswain):

with?

OpenStudy (mtalhahassan2):

what do i have to write in it

OpenStudy (malcolmmcswain):

Do you know how to write an introductory paragraph?

OpenStudy (mtalhahassan2):

i start it up with Life of Pi was an amazing movie and novel; however, the novel and the film had both similarities and differences. There are so many changes in the movie from the novel that the director has made although both versions cover the struggle of Pi.

OpenStudy (malcolmmcswain):

That's a pretty good start...

OpenStudy (malcolmmcswain):

The punctuation is a bit weird.

OpenStudy (mtalhahassan2):

ok but what can i write about that

OpenStudy (malcolmmcswain):

Ok, did you write that first paragraph?

OpenStudy (malcolmmcswain):

An introuctory paragraph doesn't have to be very long...

OpenStudy (mtalhahassan2):

lol its just only first 3 line not a paragraph

OpenStudy (mtalhahassan2):

but i want to make it little longer thou

OpenStudy (mtalhahassan2):

3 sentences are not enough

OpenStudy (malcolmmcswain):

Here are my notes: "Life of Pi was an amazing movie and novel. However, the novel and the film had both similarities and differences. *maybe give an example sentence here (i.e. For example, did you know in the book, the tiger is white?)* There are so many changes in the movie from the novel that the director has made although both versions cover the struggle of Pi. *So, what is this essay about? Are you going to be discussing this? Let your reader know somehow.*"

OpenStudy (malcolmmcswain):

I have to go... it's late for me. If you are still having trouble tomorrow, let me know.

OpenStudy (mtalhahassan2):

Can I use personal pronoun

OpenStudy (malcolmmcswain):

^ I'm not sure... does your teacher want you to?

OpenStudy (mtalhahassan2):

anyway the tiger is not white thou

OpenStudy (malcolmmcswain):

I know, it was an example.

OpenStudy (malcolmmcswain):

Give one that is actually true.

OpenStudy (malcolmmcswain):

Anyway, bye :) I'll try to help tomorrow if you are still struggling.

OpenStudy (safyousuff97):

may i leave ?

OpenStudy (safyousuff97):

sorry i wasn't helpful

OpenStudy (mtalhahassan2):

yeah you can go

OpenStudy (mtalhahassan2):

Can i able to use personal pronoun in this essay?

OpenStudy (mtalhahassan2):

here is what I have done so far: Life of Pi was an amazing movie and novel. However, the novel and the film had both similarities and differences. Such as one of the examples of differences is in the movie; a character by the name of Anandi is added to represent Pi's love interest whereas in the novel, the character is non-existent. There are so many changes in the movie from the novel that the director has made although both versions cover the struggle of Pi. a) The Opening of the novel and the movie are totally difference because in the book version, Life of Pi opens with the author's note. He says, “This book was born as I was hungry. Let me explain. In the spring of 1996, my second book, a novel, came out in Canada” (Martel, author’s note) although, in the movie version, it opens with a zoo where the main character, Pi grew up. Then it is changed to adult Pi in Canada who is telling the story to the writer of the book. He tells the writer, “This is a story that will make you believe in God.”(Life of Pi movie) The director has made these changes because the movie cannot begin with the director taking about how the director has directed the movie and why. b) Pi’s Education totally describe differently in both version such as in the Book version, Pi starts with the line “My suffering left me sad and gloomy” (Martel 1). Then he talks about his Bachelor’s studies in Toronto. He says, “I attended the University of Toronto and took a double-major Bachelor's degree. My majors were religious studies and zoology” (Martel 1). Whereas in the Movie Version, Pi is in school trying to avoid his classmate calling “Pissing” since his name is Piscine. The director has made these changes because it would be confusing if the movie starts with Pi talking about his journey and his suffering. c) The Relationship between Pi and Richard Parker Pi’s relationship with Richard Parker varies between book and the movie. In the movie, Pi never manages to tame Richard Parker; he tries to train him using the sound of his whistle and scream at him. In one scene, Pi tries to kill Richard Parker but he could not do it. “Richard Parker is extremely aggressive” (The 32 Differences Between 'Life of Pi': Book and Movie). In the book, Pi manages to dominate Richard Parker through several training exercises. The tiger makes the sound prusten which expresses harmless intention. In the book and the movie, Pi admits that without Richard Parker, he would not have survived. Richard Parker keeps Pi busy. Pi says, “I had to tame him. It was at that moment that I realized this necessity. It was not a question of him or me, but of him and me"(Martel 57) Conclusion

OpenStudy (mtalhahassan2):

Here is what my teacher want me to write a essay on: Please note that you will be writing and ESSAY that argues whether the film was more or less effective than the move. You must choose THREE different aspects of the film that were different than the novel. Therefore, this will be a five paragraph formal essay. One introductory paragraph One concluding paragraph Three body paragraphs - each one analyzing the effectiveness of the difference between the film and novel.

OpenStudy (malcolmmcswain):

...I think this is pretty good, except for the fact that there is no concluding paragraph

OpenStudy (malcolmmcswain):

I can help with grammar/spelling, but other than that, I feel like it would be cheating.

OpenStudy (mtalhahassan2):

but you can tell me where i need improve thou
