OpenStudy (texaschic101):

y > = x + 1......slope is 1, y int is (0,1)....greater then means shaded above the line...the solutions to this line will be in either A or B y + x > = -1 y >= -x - 1.....slope is -1, y int is (0,-1)....greater then means shaded above the line...the solutions to this line will be in either A or D. Therefore, the common solution will be in A. you can check them by subbing in a set of points only found in A...and if it makes both inequalities true, then it is found in the solution area. y >= x + 1.......(0,3) <== set of points found only in A 3 >= 0 + 1 3 >= 1.....this is true y >= -x - 1.....(0,3) 3 >= 0 - 1 3 > -1.....this is true that means (0,3) is a point in the solution area.
