Does anybody know a good website that explains step by step, how to create a python image library, the format the picture has to be, and how to program/reference the pictures in a game...etc

Like for example I have an image saved, and then what do I do so that it pops up on the screen and then go's away after I press enter (or any similar way), and the story line of the game continues.
