just google your animals in this format "species unique to ______." Find out what's special aobut the species.

EXAMPLE: searching species unique to tundra, gives tundraanimals.net, which if you open has a front page with a bunch of animals with a white coat. You could say the tundra is cold and snows often (check the chart!), etc, so the animals are white and have thick furs to adapt to the snow.
