What are somatic cells? How many pairs of chromosomes are found in the nucleus of a human cell?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well a somatic > vegetal cell is any biological cell forming the body of an organism; that is, in a multicellular organism, any cell other than a gamete, germ cell, gametocyte or undifferentiated stem cell.[1]

OpenStudy (rushwr):

So basically a somatic cell is any cell of a living organism other than the reproductive cells. For an example you can take skin cells :)
