Which sentence uses correct punctuation? Dr. Anderson asked, “When is the awards ceremony going to begin”? Dr. Anderson asked “When is the awards ceremony going to begin?” Dr. Anderson asked, “When is the awards ceremony going to begin?” Dr. Anderson asked, “when is the awards ceremony going to begin”?
I need to know which one is right :)
A I believe
I think its the third one
It wouldn't be A because the ? is in the quotation. @AvaOBri
Its definitely the third one
Oh I see
*isn't
It is C
this question is already on open study, but two people gave different answers
Yeah third one!
so the question mark is always in the quotation and it is okay to have a comma before the quotation right?
There you go :) everyone agrees that its the third one lol
;)
alright, thank you :3 I will be posting more probably :)
Correct. You always want to include punctuation inside the quotation.
yes before you finish a quote you always put a period, question mark, or exclamation mark :)
and the first word in quotation has to be capitalized right?
Yes just like the beginning of a sentence because technically it is a new sentence.
My mother always told me that, "Slow and steady wins the race." My mother always told me that "Slow and steady wins the race."
so for this one, the first one would be correct, or the second one
i think its the first because of the comma in the beginning b4 quotation
The first because you have to put a comma before you quote someone. Example: Adrianna.Gongora said,"Example."
Yup, see you know what your doing :)
Thank you :3
