Bruce bought two books. One book costs $4.00 more than three times the other. Together, the two books cost him $72 Can someone help me turn this into a equation ?

Since Bruce brought 2 books the first number is 2 then you get the next by multiplying 4 by 3 which is 12. So the equation is 12x12/2
