\[p = mv\] interesting, this is a formula for momentum, anyways, what happens if you divide by m on both sides?

OpenStudy (astrophysics):

Do the same with v

OpenStudy (anonymous):

????

OpenStudy (astrophysics):

This is simple algebra, please, what happens if you divide both sides by m?

OpenStudy (astrophysics):

p = mv divide the left and right side by m what happens

OpenStudy (anonymous):

p

OpenStudy (astrophysics):

\[\frac{ p }{ m } = \frac{ mv }{ m }\] what happens to the m on the right side

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok.. is the answer v = p over m?

OpenStudy (astrophysics):

Yes, that's one of them but I hope you understand how, notice that mv mean the m is being multiplied by v, so to "get rid" of it from that side we would divide both sides by m and be left with v on the right. v=p/m

OpenStudy (astrophysics):

Try it with v now
