OpenStudy (chris215):

for b. does this sound right? T'(8) means how fast T is changing at t=8, in °F/hr.

OpenStudy (superdavesuper):

"T'(8) means how fast T is changing at t=8, in °F/hr" is correct. as for a, use the values of T at t=6 and 8 to get an average of T' between t=6 and 8; recalculate the average of T' between t=8 and 10 with the T values respectively. Average T' at 8 will be the average of the above two numbers....

OpenStudy (chris215):

(T(8)-T(6))/2= 5/2 (T(10)-T(8))/2= 7/2
