@Peach3113 @Jashawn.S

OpenStudy (peach3113):

Okay, let's go through the first one. :D Do you see any conjunctions? (IE FANBOY, For, And, Nor, But, Or, Yet.

OpenStudy (maddie82502):

no

OpenStudy (peach3113):

That and SOMETIMES a comma are usually the tip-off that the sentence is compound. If you do not see a conjunction, then the sentence is simple. :P

OpenStudy (peach3113):

If the sentence has two subjects and two verbs, then it would be compound. An example would be: Jacob can run faster, but Annie can hop faster. Jacob and run are your subject and verb, but Annie and hop are your other subject and verb. So that sentence is compound.

OpenStudy (peach3113):

"The boy jumped up and touched the basketball net" would be what?

OpenStudy (peach3113):

Remember, there is only one subject for both verbs.

OpenStudy (peach3113):

@maddie82502 ^^

OpenStudy (maddie82502):

a simple

OpenStudy (peach3113):

Yes. :D

OpenStudy (peach3113):
