OpenStudy (edbf123):

i need help completing a proof

OpenStudy (edbf123):

OpenStudy (justin528p):

1st one is #5 and second one is the other good luck

OpenStudy (justin528p):

#4=prove #5=given

OpenStudy (edbf123):

wait it already has angle bad=cad number four is talking about the triangle bad=cad

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

For proofs, I find it easier to break up the triangles. |dw:1449083182134:dw|

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

We know AD = AD, so now for the triangles we have |dw:1449083279080:dw|

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

Do you know the triangle theorems like Angle Angle Side, Side Angle Side, etc?

OpenStudy (edbf123):

Mostly yeah

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

Okay, so how would those 2 triangles be congruent? What 3 things are congruent in both triangles that we know of?

OpenStudy (edbf123):

I don't know sorry I am horrible at this

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

It's okay, see how there's a side, then an angle, then another side in both triangles that are congruent?

OpenStudy (edbf123):

Yeah

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

Okay, we can that congruent by Side Angle Side

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

*call

OpenStudy (edbf123):

ohhhhhhhhh i get it i think lol thanks

OpenStudy (edbf123):

what about 5 how would we find that

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

5, we know that the 2 other sides of the triangle are congruent, so that has to be congruent. The theorem for that is: CPCTC or Definition of Congruent Triangles Corresponding Parts of Congruent Triangles Are Congruent.

OpenStudy (edbf123):

so it would just be cpctc

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

Yep :)

OpenStudy (edbf123):

thank you for showing me how to do it

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

No problem! You were awesome to teach :3

OpenStudy (edbf123):

thanks you are an awesome teacher lol
