OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

A bicycle tire has a diameter of 24 inches and is revolving at a rate of 10 rpm. At t=0, a certain point is at height 0. What is the height of the point above ground after 3 seconds?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

well if the tire does 10 revolutions per minute how long does it take for 1 complete revolution...?

OpenStudy (radar):

Note Think seconds. How many seconds required for one complete revolution?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

so its 10m revolutions in 60 seconds...

OpenStudy (radar):

It is turning 10 revolutions in 60 seconds How many seconds for 1 revolution?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

My guess is 24 inches.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Verify that the wheel rotates 180 deg in 3 seconds. That would place the point at the top of the wheel or 24 inches above the point's initial position.

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

6 seconds for one revolution...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes and 1/2 revolution in 3 seconds.

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

Ah

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):
