Which words are closest to the meaning of the underlined word as it is used in the paragraph? Use the thesaurus to find the correct words. I saw a movie where the knight showed his devotion to a princess by giving her a rose every day for a whole year. But I think she got sick of roses. I believe that is why she ended up marrying a different knight. devotion, n. enthusiasm, commitment, zeal, dedication, affection, love. Choose all answers that are correct. A. enthusiasm B. affection C. love D. zeal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

devotion is the underlined.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the answer is c

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I thought that as well, but it's a choose (all) question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hear this : i saw a movie where a knight showed his love for a princess...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh i see choose all answers that are correct it is c and a

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Could it be B too?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it could but does it make sense if :the knight his affection for the princess...

OpenStudy (zoeeh127):

maybe

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B and C. Devotion means love, loyalty, or enthusiasm for a person, activity, or cause. Zeal and enthusiasm do not specify that it is about a person. Zeal means great energy or enthusiasm in pursuit of a cause or an objective. (not a person)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i meant does it make sense in the sentence: the knight showed his affection for the princess...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Although, affection doesn't fit the definition perfect.... So I am unsure. It fits but not as well as love.

OpenStudy (anonymous):
