What is the common difference d of the sequence? -15, -4, 7,18,29 There are NOT any answer choices

OpenStudy (freckles):

the common difference can be found by doing term minus previous term

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I've tried that @freckles I got -0.26 1.75 2.75 and 1.61

OpenStudy (freckles):

you should only be getting one number why 4 different numbers?

OpenStudy (freckles):

also why decimals?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk, typing it into my calc...

OpenStudy (freckles):

minus isn't the same as dividing

OpenStudy (freckles):

to find a difference isn't the same as finding the quotient and you do not have a geometric sequence here so I don't know why you are dividing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OMG! Im so STUPID! thanks for telling me I am supposed to subtract

OpenStudy (freckles):

-4-(-15) doesn't equal -4/(-15)

OpenStudy (freckles):

that is what minus means...

OpenStudy (freckles):

when I said term minus previous term a minus b is the same meaning as taking b away from a or subtracting b from a

OpenStudy (freckles):

I'm just trying to tell you what minus means just in case you didn't know...
