Is the shaded area, the big square minus the little square?

These two triangles are equal to each other. So you have calculate the shaded area (with the little square)\[8ft*6ft=48ft^2\] So now you need to subtract the little square: \[3ft*3ft=9ft^2\] So the shaded area is: \[48ft^2-9ft^2=?\]

Thanks ur a life saver
