OpenStudy (safyousuff97):

Reporter's Notebook Part Two–Lesson 02.02 You must draft a lead sentence for your news story about your chosen career in journalism. Your sentence must meet the following requirements: It must be between 20 and 30 words long. It must address at least three of the WWWWWH questions. It must not express opinion. Write your lead sentence: Identify the who in your lead: Identify the what in your lead: Identify the when in your lead: Identify the why in your lead: Identify the where in your lead: Identify the how in your lead: How many words is your lead? Have you remained impartial?

OpenStudy (safyousuff97):

i chose copy editing

OpenStudy (safyousuff97):

@leahhhmorgannn

OpenStudy (leahhhmorgannn):

well what are things you learned about that job?

OpenStudy (safyousuff97):

that u have to fix people's grammar, also to make sure the spelling and punctuation are correct.

OpenStudy (leahhhmorgannn):

So state that. I did an editor, which is almost the same thing, and this assignment for me just stated: Within the complicated realm of journalistic careers, it can be hard for journalists to find their niche, but it can be easier if you know where your passion stems from. Mine doesn't even talk about my chosen job so just do whatever.

OpenStudy (leahhhmorgannn):

As long as you don't state any opinions, like "I think" or "I believe that..."

OpenStudy (safyousuff97):

so basically i just explain what copy editing is

OpenStudy (safyousuff97):

ok

OpenStudy (safyousuff97):

can i start the paragraph bu saying i chose copy editing .....

OpenStudy (leahhhmorgannn):

No, that's too obvious. It's basically a "duh" statement.

OpenStudy (safyousuff97):

true

OpenStudy (safyousuff97):

so i start by saying copy editing is .....

OpenStudy (safyousuff97):

and list everything u have to do

OpenStudy (leahhhmorgannn):

Well, remember there's a word limit and it can only be one sentence.

OpenStudy (safyousuff97):

wait the assignment is only one sentence ?

OpenStudy (leahhhmorgannn):

"draft a lead sentence" "20 to 30 words"

OpenStudy (safyousuff97):

oh wow i'm so dumb, thanks for pointing that out i would have wrote 2 paragraphs

OpenStudy (leahhhmorgannn):

AND the sentence must answer at least THREE of the following: Who What When Where Why How

OpenStudy (safyousuff97):

thanks for your help :)

OpenStudy (safyousuff97):

is it okay in the future if i ask help in the other journalism questions ?

OpenStudy (leahhhmorgannn):

sure, as long as it's not just me writing the assignment for you. remember - I wrote this essay before, I don't want to do it twice.

OpenStudy (safyousuff97):

okay i'm not using u don't worry

OpenStudy (leahhhmorgannn):

Now, if you'll excuse me, I just spent three hours doing an anatomy exam and my back is killing me and I still have history notes to do before 9 AM tomorrow morning. the things I do for FLVS lol. message me if you need anymore help :)

OpenStudy (safyousuff97):
