Help! I'm using a Windows 8.1 OS, my File Explorer often crashes and it's so annoying. Does anyone know how to fix that thing?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

could be one of two things; either a problem with your software or hardware software : might be running too many processes that your pc cant handle(open task manager and close any process you don't need apart from windows processes...also click on startup tab to disable some startup programs) might be a malware such as virus that has corrupted your system files(in this case backup your important files only and reinstall windows after formatting old windows partition) hardware: how much ram do you have ? what is your processors make and model? if it is an old pc it is recommended that you upgrade your ram

I have a 4GB RAM, my processor is Intel COREi3. My PC is Acer Aspire E about nearly two years since I bought it..

a core i3 with 4GB ram is a decent machine and should not lag unless when running heavy applications. i suggest that you re-installing windows and install a good antivirus such as 360 total security. https://www.360totalsecurity.com/en/

windows 10 could also run smoothly on your pc (:

don't know apps are heavy.. i got some great apps like -power director 14 -autocad 2014 -gimp 2.8 -inkscape -...
