i think the scale factor here is 9
so i multiplied each side from the mdel by 9 to get the side lengths of the actual walkway

sorry about that. do you still need help
OpenStudy (anonymous):
So i got these lengths for the actual size of the walkway
EF =45in
FG = 34 in
HG=36 in
EH= 27 in
so i have to add all of these inchest up and convert them into feet right?
would my answer be:
144 in / 12 in = 12 feet
OpenStudy (anonymous):
did i do this correctly?
OpenStudy (michele_laino):
please keep in mind that we have the subsequent scale factor:
\[\huge \frac{{EF}}{{AB}} = \frac{{45}}{5} = \frac{9}{1}\]
OpenStudy (michele_laino):
so, we have: \(FG=4 \times 9=...?\)

45 / 5 would be 9 right?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
36
OpenStudy (michele_laino):
that's right!
OpenStudy (michele_laino):
so the requested perimeter, is \(45+36+36+27=...?\)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
144 inches

OpenStudy (michele_laino):
that's right!
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so i divide that by 12 inches in order to get the total length in feet?
OpenStudy (michele_laino):
yes!
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so my final answer would be 12 feet?
OpenStudy (michele_laino):
that's right! :)
