OpenStudy (anonymous):

In asexual reproduction, is the offspring genetically same as the parent?

OpenStudy (smartanne):

yes, because the same genes are being shared

OpenStudy (ramzy197):

in asexual reproduction the offspring would be genetically identical to the parent because its not undergoing meiosis which is the crossing over of genes. in asexual reproduction the offspring are clones of the parents hence why they would be identical :)
