What is the solution to the system of equations represented by the two equations?

pooja195 (pooja195):

Ok so we have 2 equations y=-2x+7 <---equation 1 y=1/3x <---equation 2 Both of the equations tell use what y equals so let's plug equation 1 into equation 2 -2x+7=1/3x Can you solve for x? :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Would x be 3 ?

pooja195 (pooja195):

Ok good :) Now plug 3 in place of x in equation 1 y=-2(3)+7

pooja195 (pooja195):

Solve for y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Y would be 1

pooja195 (pooja195):

Yep so what coordinate do we have?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3 ,1

pooja195 (pooja195):

Good and that would be your answer :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks!! :)

pooja195 (pooja195):
