You are subtracting "mixed numbers," which include integers and fractions. Looking at the fractions, you should see that the LCD is 4. Convert 1/2 to a fraction with 4 in the denominator. Can y ou now do the subtraction? Please show your work.
im completely lost. i did this like 2 years ago idk how to do this now
Convert the Mixed numbers into fractions 51/4 - 21/2 Create a common denominator which would be 4 since that is the lowest common multiple 51/4 - 42/4 Answer 9/4 (if you have to convert back into mixed numbers the answer would be 2 and 1/4)
