OpenStudy (ac3):

anyone on here good with dimensional analysis?

OpenStudy (ac3):

you have a 125 lb woman stand on a heel of .75 in^2. Calculate the pressure exerted on the underlying surface in newtons, bars and pounds per square inch

OpenStudy (ac3):

1 bar = 10^5 N/m^2

OpenStudy (ac3):

N being newtons

OpenStudy (ac3):

2.54cm = in

OpenStudy (ac3):

lb=4.448 N

OpenStudy (mrnood):

BTW - this is not dimensional analysis This is conversion of units Also - you need to make sure you do not confuse Mass (in pounds) with Weight (lbf) Mass, Length, and Time are the 'Dimensions' at issue here - but the dimension of Mass is M (whatever the units), of area is L^2 (whatever the units) etc.
